The Orange Walk Catholic Principals Associatio of Primary Schools is a branch of the National Association of Catholic Principals Association of Primary Schools. Its main function is to represent the Catholic Schools in the Orange Walk District in matters that affects their daily operations. It is an extension of the Local and General Manager of Catholic Public Schools. It safeguards the interest, policies and all other matters related to the effective functioning of schools.

The Orange Walk Catholic Principals Association was formed in 2066 on the advice of our Assistant Local Manager Mr. Bernaldino Pech. It is comprised of 16 rural and urban schools which range from an enrollment of fifty-one to over a thousand. From its inceptions; it became autonomous direct by an elected body of principals. It meets as often as needed at la Inmaculada School. At this juncture it has negotiated successfully with the General Manager, and Local Manager issues that are critical to the smooth running of the Bishop Martin Football Tournament both locally and nationally.

With the support of both the Assistant and the Local Manager , it can safely be said that the association has become the body, which links management with schools and teachers.

"Our Mission is to promote dialogue between management and schools for effective leadership, a positive school culture, emphasize the value of learning, self-worth among students and staff, quality performance among students and staff, and transition for students to be productive and responsible participants in society."

"To be a leading entity to provide a link between management and schools, to serve the teaching populace by providing effective schools and leadership in empowering teachers and students through a remarkable Catholic education for a better society.”

President Message

Each year we meet as a body to exert important changes in the Catholic Education System. This learning opportunity allows us to grow as an institution. Those principals that are on the way out of the system provide us with experience and guidance that we cannot just ignore. As a principal in this era, we should learn to tap into the new and the old for the betterment of ourselves.

As we gather this year, let us consider our mission as an educator and leader. Let us put all our efforts in achieving meaningful change. It is important that we share experiences with each other. As we socialize let us share our experience for the sake of learning. Let us mingle with as our colleagues as much as possible so that we can make dramatic improvement in our schools. Let us approach this moment with open minds.

To the district association, let us look at the gigantic effort we have put to make this gathering a reality. It is good to critique our weakness but also to look at out strengths. Do not say it should have been like this. Make it be the way you think it should be. Do what is missing. It is the only way that we will succeed.

At this moment, we can share the immense responsibility that our brothers and sisters took in Belize City and San Ignacio. Now we know what it takes to organize a gathering. To the other districts it may seem easy but it is until you take the endeavor that you really grow.

Let us enter this gathering to effect meaningful change. Be part of it. Every aspect is important and we should be a part of change.
